Apply for this role (opens in a new tab)Accounting Specialist Accounting Specialist Location: Tempe, AZ Schedule: Full Time | Onsite Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Compensation: $55k to $65kPosition Overview Our client is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join their growing team in Phoenix. This role will support a variety of day to day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month end close activities. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently
- Perform bank, account, and intercompany reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting and balanced ledgers
- Prepare and record journal entries, including accruals and prepaid expense amortizations
- Assist with month end and year end close activities, including account analysis and supporting schedules
- Maintain general ledger records and support the preparation of financial reports
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis
- Support audit preparation and provide documentation as needed
- Assist with tax related reporting and filings
- Partner with internal departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and provide financial insights
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and support additional projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
- Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, and intercompany balancing
- Experience working with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and month end close procedures
- Payroll experience is highly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Analytical mindset with strong problem solving abilities
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross functional teams
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
