Senior Manager, Design Engineering

Constellation Energy seeks a Sr Manager Design Engineering to lead complex design projects for energy systems across our utilities and renewable portfolio. In this role, you will oversee a team of engineers, guide the development of safe, reliable, and cost-effective designs, and ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards. You will collaborate with operations, project management, and sustainability teams to integrate innovative technologies, optimize system performance, and support key decarbonization initiatives. Lead and mentor a team of design engineers delivering complex energy projects Oversee end-to-end design of utility-scale and renewable energy systems Ensure designs meet safety, reliability, regulatory, and industry standards Collaborate with operations and project management to support project execution Drive innovation and integration of new technologies into system designs Optimize performance, cost, and sustainability of engineering solutions Manage project timelines, budgets, and engineering resources Present technical recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders Electrical or mechanical design engineering Utility-scale power systems design CAD/CAE tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ETAP) Project management Grid interconnection and reliability standards Renewable energy systems integration Data analysis and performance modeling Risk assessment and mitigation Regulatory and compliance knowledge (energy/utilities) Cross-functional team leadership Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Professional Engineer (PE) license Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Project Management Professional (PMP) Experience with utility-scale power systems standards (IEEE, NEC)
