Key responsibilities: Act as the senior technical authority for high-consequence cases and complex customer appeals Set standards for distinguishing legitimate scientific inquiry from potential misuse in biodefense and biosecurity Deliver peer-reviewed labels to validate automated AI safety classifiers and advise on evolving biotechnology capabilitiesRequired qualifications: Advanced Degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Microbiology, Virology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Synthetic Biology, Biosecurity, or a related discipline 9+ years of professional experience in biodefense, biosecurity policy, or public health threat surveillance Exceptional fluency in life-science research protocols and dual-use expertise Deep familiarity with national and international biosecurity frameworks and regulations Proven track record of leading technical teams in high-stakes environments
