Tax Accountant – Public Accounting & Bookkeeping | Brooklyn, NYA well-established accounting firm serving small businesses across a variety of industries is looking to add an experienced tax and accounting professional to its growing team. This is a hands-on role managing a dedicated roster of individual and corporate clients, with support from a junior staff member and oversight from senior reviewers. It's a great opportunity for someone who wants to combine tax and bookkeeping work in a collaborative, in-office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Preparation & Compliance
- Prepare individual and corporate tax returns for an assigned client roster
- Work within a multi-level review process before final sign-off
- Bookkeeping & Client Management
- Perform ongoing bookkeeping and write-up work for small business clients
- Manage day-to-day client communication and documentation needs
- Team Collaboration
- Partner with and provide guidance to a junior team member handling clerical support tasks
- Coordinate with reviewers and senior staff on client files
- Qualifications1–2+ years of tax preparation experience
- Public accounting background with exposure to both tax and bookkeeping/write-up work
- Comfortable managing or guiding a junior team member
- Degree preferred but not required for the right candidate
- Available for full-time, in-office work
