Neurocritical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Hartford Healthcare seeks a part-time Neurocritical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide advanced practice care to complex neurological and critically ill patients. In this role, you will perform focused assessments, manage ventilators and infusions, order and interpret diagnostics, and collaborate closely with intensivists, neurology, nursing, and rehab teams. You’ll help guide care plans, educate patients and families, and support transitions of care. Provide advanced neurocritical and critical care to complex ICU patients Perform comprehensive neurologic and systemic assessments and ongoing monitoring Order, interpret, and act on labs, imaging, and other diagnostics Manage ventilators, infusions, and other advanced therapies per protocols Collaborate with intensivists, neurologists, nurses, and allied health professionals Develop, implement, and adjust patient care plans and goals of care Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and follow-up needs Document care in the EMR in accordance with regulatory and institutional standards Participate in quality, safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives Support onboarding and education of team members and learners as needed Neurocritical care assessment ICU patient management Ventilator management Acute stroke and neurologic emergency care Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation Collaborative care with multidisciplinary teams Patient and family education Care planning and discharge coordination Quality and safety protocols in ICU Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current APRN or PA-C license in CT Board certification as Acute Care NP or PA Neurocritical care or critical care certification preferred BLS and ACLS certification DEA registration
