The Opportunity:
We are hiring a Vice President for the firm's private equity investment team in New York. You will be a senior member of the team, leading investment processes, developing theses and working closely with leadership on new investments and portfolio company initiatives. The role carries a high degree of autonomy.
Responsibilities:
- Lead new investments from initial screening through closing
- Develop investment theses covering market dynamics, competitive positioning, management teams and value creation
- Own financial underwriting, including operating models, LBO analysis and valuation
- Prepare and present investment committee materials
- Build relationships with management teams, banks and advisors, and contribute to sourcing
- Support portfolio companies on strategic, financial and operational initiatives
- Mentor Associates and Senior Associates
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience, including 2+ years in private equity, with a strong investment banking foundation
- Demonstrated experience executing PE transactions and leading significant deal workstreams
- Exceptional modeling, valuation and underwriting skills
- Strong investment judgment and the ability to develop and defend a clear thesis
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with senior management and advisors
- Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable with autonomy and accountability
- Interest in building a long-term career with a growing PE platform
