Veterinary LVT/Assistant- Experience Required

We believe that our patients deserve to be loved by their owners and veterinary care is an important part of owners showing their love. You have been hired on our team as a Veterinary Assistant/LVT. Your role is very important to our hospital, to keep our office running smoothly you and your department team members are responsible but not limited to the following tasks:· Being punctual for your scheduled shifts and understanding that while we try our best to have you out at your scheduled time- there are times that you will need to stay after your scheduled time to ensure that work is completed. · Animal Handling · Walking pets during the day when they are here for a long-term stay (long term = over 4 hours) · Write supplies on appropriate list when low · Laundry- start, fold, put away · Relay proper information to Doctors and other Technicians regarding patients · Caring for clinic cat’s kennels · Technician White Board tasks (daily, weekly, monthly) · Assisting with in-house patient care · Assisting Doctors with scheduled appointments · Calling owners regarding their pet’s care · Callbacks under AT and own name · Prescription pharmacy line (answer incoming calls if able to, answer voicemails within 24 hours of them being left) · Restocking pharmacy with supplies · Assisting with Surgery/Dentals (if trained) · X-rays (helping position pets and taking pictures) · Filling prescriptions · Collecting history from owners regarding patients · Collecting samples to run labwork · Vaccinating patients (with Dr’s approval) · Educating clients · Entering records (updating SOC’s) · Scheduling appointments · Technician appointments · Keeping pharmacy tidy and stocked · Keeping treatment tidy and stocked · Keeping surgery tidy and stocked · Keeping back office area tidy · Preparing surgery packs (washing, wrapping, auto clave) · Placing IV catheters and administering fluids (SQ and IV with permission of Dr) · Advocate for patients \nCompany
