Alley Group | Full-time | Remote, U.S. time-zone working hours Reports to: Director of Paid Social & Performance Creative About Alley Alley is an award-winning digital marketing agency with operations across the USA and Australia, focused on helping ambitious brands scale through performance marketing, performance creative, media strategy, analytics, and growth consulting.
About the role: Creative is one of the biggest drivers of paid social performance. We’re looking for a Performance Creative Strategist who can connect deep research, customer insights, performance data, and compelling storytelling to develop ads that move people to act. You’re curious about why people buy, what makes them stop scrolling, and how a strong idea becomes an effective ad. You can dig into customer reviews and campaign results, find an interesting insight, and visualize how it could come to life through a hook, a story, or a striking static. And you use AI to create systems to do this efficiently. Reporting to our Director of Paid Social & Performance Creative, you’ll own the day-to-day creative strategy process across client accounts—from research and ideation through briefing, partner with production partners, production feedback, testing frameworks, launch planning and performance analysis. You’ll collaborate with our paid social team, creators, and production partners to build a steady pipeline of thoughtful creative tests across Meta, Tik Tok, Linked In, You Tube and other paid platforms. This is an opportunity to help shape a growing performance creative offering, with room to develop your craft and make a visible impact on client results.
What you’ll do: Find the insights behind the ideas. Explore voice of customer data, competitor advertising, audience research, platform trends, and creative performance data to uncover motivations, objections, and opportunities worth testing. Turn research into compelling concepts. Develop ideas across video, UGC, static, carousel, catalog and other ad formats. Connect each concept to a clear audience insight and testable hypothesis, bringing meaningful variety to messaging, visual approaches, and intended audiences. Write briefs that make the vision clear. Translate concepts into actionable creative briefs, scripts, hooks, copy, visual references, and storyboards or shot lists as needed. Give creators and designers the context and direction they need to execute effectively. Source and select the right creators. Post project opportunities, review portfolios and rates, and hire creators who align with the creative brief, audience, and budget. Guide creative through production. Collaborate with UGC and creative production partners, answer questions, review assets, and provide specific, constructive feedback on storytelling, pacing, visuals, messaging, and alignment with the brief and brand. Help plan what goes live next. Partner with the Director and paid social team to prioritize concepts, define test objectives, and maintain a consistent creative testing cadence across accounts. Turn performance into the next creative decision. Analyze results in partnership with media buyers, using attention, engagement, and conversion metrics to identify patterns and recommend what to iterate, expand, or retire. Bring clients along in the process. Present research, concepts, and performance learnings clearly, explain the thinking behind your recommendations, and translate client feedback into actionable direction. Keep the process moving. Manage briefs, feedback, deadlines, and creative learnings across multiple projects, helping improve how we develop and test creative as the offering grows.
What you’ll bring: Approximately 3+ years of relevant experience in performance creative strategy, growth creative, direct-response advertising, or a closely related role. Strong work samples and demonstrated thinking matter more than a specific title or exact number of years. Experience developing paid social creative, with proficiency in platforms such as Meta, Tik Tok, and Linked In and an understanding of how creative should adapt to each platform’s audience, formats, and behaviors. Strong research instincts and the ability to turn qualitative and quantitative findings into a clear creative opportunity. A combination of analytical thinking and creative visual storytelling—you can interpret performance data and imagine the ad it could inspire. Strong writing skills, including creative briefs, video scripts, hooks, and persuasive ad copy. An understanding of performance metrics such as hook rate, retention, CTR, conversion rate, CPA, and ROAS, and how to use them together to inform creative decisions. Experience collaborating with creators, designers, editors, or production partners and delivering feedback that improves the work. Confidence presenting ideas and findings to clients, with a clear rationale and openness to feedback. Strong organization, ownership, and the ability to balance multiple client priorities in a remote environment. A close connection to social culture and curiosity about why certain content resonates—and when a trend makes sense for a brand.
Nice to have: Experience working in an agency across multiple brands or industries. Familiarity with Motion/Runneth, or similar creative research and analysis tools. Experience developing both ecommerce and lead-generation creative. Familiarity with AI tools that support research, ideation, storyboarding, or creative workflows. A marketing background in copywriting, content creation, design, or video editing that strengthens your ability to brief and evaluate work. Why join Alley At Alley, performance isn’t just a buzzword; it’s our promise. We’re an award-winning agency built around driving real business outcomes for our clients. As we grow, we’re building a team of passionate marketers who are curious, ambitious, and committed to doing work that matters. Here’s what you can expect: A performance-first culture grounded in trust, ownership, and growth. The opportunity to work with innovative brands across industries and markets. Fully remote work with U.S. time-zone working hours and a collaborative, supportive team. Close collaboration with our Director of Paid Social & Performance Creative and the opportunity to help shape a growing creative offering. A place where your ideas and results make a real impact.
