Responsibilities:
Administer radiopharmaceuticals or radiation intravenously to detect or treat diseases, using radioisotope equipment.
Prepare and measure radioactive isotopes; calculate doses to be administered by radiologists.
Perform screening procedures to support diagnostic interpretation and imaging workflows.
Administer intravenous injections in accordance with established procedures, including venipuncture as required.
Document all pertinent information regarding radioactive materials and surveys; maintain procedure quality control and safety standards.
Coordinate patient flow and communicate with care teams; elevate questions or issues to more senior staff as needed.
Adhere to department policies and contribute to continuous process improvement.
Requirements
Education:
Diploma/certificate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine program; Bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine technology or equivalent (preferred).
Licenses/Certifications:
California State Nuclear Medicine License required; ARRT (Nuclear Medicine) or NMTCB certification required; Venipuncture certification required; Facility-specific ARRT or NMTCB certification required; Venipuncture (IV) certification required.
Experience:
At least two years of recent experience in nuclear medicine; current BLS certification; current nursing license per the state of assignment. Other: Ability to work in a hospital setting and comply with assignment requirements; eligible for travel assignment in California.
