What This Role Is: This is a true cradle-to-grave freight account management position. You own the shipment and the customer relationship from beginning to end. Manage freight from quoting and booking through pickup and final delivery. Communicate directly with customers regarding pricing, capacity, shipment updates, delays, and service concerns. Negotiate rates with shippers and carriers. Source and secure qualified carrier capacity. Book, dispatch, and track active shipments. Resolve missed appointments, service failures, capacity issues, and other freight-related problems. Maintain accurate shipment information within the TMS.Build and maintain strong customer and carrier relationships. Retain and grow existing accounts. Identify opportunities to increase shipment volume, expand lanes, and improve account profitability. This is not a position where freight is handed off after the sale. You remain involved throughout the entire shipment and are responsible for delivering a strong customer experience from beginning to end.
