The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting is responsible for supporting the Company's internal and external financial reporting processes and ensuring compliance with US GAAP. This role prepares and reviews financial reporting deliverables, supports the preparation of the annual consolidated financial statements and disclosures, coordinates external audit activities, and performs technical accounting research related to complex transactions. The position works closely with Corporate FP&A, Internal Audit, Treasury, Business Unit Management, and other corporate functions.
Essential Duties:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual internal and external financial reporting packages. Prepare annual audited financial statements and related disclosures for multiple Ports America entities. Coordinate external audit requests and serve as a primary contact for assigned audit areas. Perform technical accounting research and assist with accounting conclusions and memoranda for complex transactions under US GAAP and, as applicable, IFRS.Review accounting for complex transactions, including revenue recognition, leases, debt, derivatives, business combinations, equity method accounting and other significant matters. Support the design, implementation and maintenance of internal controls over financial reporting. Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to support compliance with US GAAP and other applicable requirements. Perform account and financial statement fluctuation analyses and prepare clear, concise explanations for significant variances. Support the Financial Reporting Department and the Chief Accounting Officer and others on various strategic initiatives including merger & acquisition activities. Assist with ad hoc special projects and duties as assigned.
