Apply for this role →We are seeking an experienced Director of Revenue Cycle Management to lead and optimize the full revenue cycle function for a growing healthcare organization. This individual will be responsible for driving operational performance across billing, collections, accounts receivable, denials, reimbursement, and related revenue cycle activities. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong healthcare revenue cycle expertise, a track record of improving financial and operational metrics, and the ability to build, develop, and lead high-performing teams.
Responsibilities:
Provide strategic and operational leadership for the end-to-end revenue cycle process, including billing, collections, cash posting, accounts receivable, denials, appeals, and reimbursement Develop and execute initiatives to improve cash flow, reduce A/R days, increase collection rates, and minimize denials and bad debt Monitor key revenue cycle KPIs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and financial performance Analyze payer trends, reimbursement issues, aging reports, denial patterns, and other revenue cycle data Establish and maintain policies, procedures, controls, and best practices across revenue cycle operations Partner with Finance, Accounting, Operations, Clinical Leadership, and other departments to resolve revenue and reimbursement issues Oversee payer-related issues and ensure timely resolution of underpayments, denials, and outstanding claims Lead, mentor, and develop revenue cycle managers and staff while establishing clear performance expectations Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and enhanced use of revenue cycle technology Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, payer requirements, and internal policies Support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting related to revenue cycle performance Manage relationships with third-party vendors and outsourced revenue cycle partners as applicable
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or a related field 7+ years of progressive healthcare revenue cycle experience, including leadership experience Strong understanding of healthcare billing, reimbursement, collections, denials management, and accounts receivable Demonstrated success improving revenue cycle KPIs and implementing process improvements Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and operational data Experience managing and developing revenue cycle teams Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills Strong knowledge of healthcare reimbursement practices and payer requirements Experience with revenue cycle management systems, practice management systems, and/or healthcare ERP platforms
