Halifax County School is seeking an innovative and hands-on STEM Teacher to inspire students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The ideal candidate will create engaging, project-based learning experiences that develop problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaborative skills.
Responsibilities: Plan and deliver standards-aligned STEM instruction Develop and implement project-based and inquiry-based lessons Guide students in hands-on experiments, coding, robotics, and engineering challenges Integrate technology and digital tools into instruction Assess student learning and provide timely feedback Foster teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills Maintain a safe and organized learning environment Communicate with parents, colleagues, and administration Participate in professional development and school events
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in STEM field or Education (Science, Math, Engineering, Technology) Valid North Carolina Department of Public Instruction teaching license (Grades 6–12 or applicable grade band) Strong classroom management and communication skills Passion for hands-on, interdisciplinary teaching Preferred Experience teaching STEM, robotics, coding, or engineering courses Familiarity with NC STEM standards and curriculum frameworks Experience with after-school STEM clubs, competitions, or makerspaces
