Student Groundskeeper

Essential Functions: Mowing lawns. Trimming hedges. Watering plants. Maintaining gardens and lawns, including planting, weeding and mulching. Emptying trash bins. Delivering plants to events or departments. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to use and operate grounds equipment and/or tools (e.g. leaf sweepers, line trimmers, hedge trimmers, blowers, hand truck, hammer drill, chain saw, basic hand tools, etc.). Ability to plant shrubs, trees, flowers, pruning trees/shrubs. Ability to operate push lawn mowers, and other turf related equipment. Ability to operate a power washer. Experience in work that requires customer service skills. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA. Required Education Current UIW student approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study program. Required Work Experience None.

Preferred Qualifications: None. Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations Valid Drivers License to operate a golf cart. Work Hours Monday- Friday 12- 20 hours per week. Some weekends will be mandatory.

Physical Demands: Must be able to pull, push and lift 50 pounds. Work in inclement weather and exposure to heat, rain and cold. Work in high noise environments. Compensation $11/ hr, Part Time.
