Role Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough patient assessments, encompassing physical examinations and comprehensive medical history reviews
- Assist in diagnosing surgical conditions through the analysis of imaging studies and lab reports
- Work closely with surgeons to develop and execute patient-centered surgical treatment approaches
- Provide intraoperative support, including the setup of operating rooms, ensuring proper patient positioning, and passing surgical instruments during procedures
- Administer exceptional pre- and post-operative care, which involves medication management, wound care, discharge planning, and patient education
Required Education:
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Completion of clinical rotations with a surgical focus is strongly preferred
- Preferred Certifications
- Current and unrestricted PA-C certificationBLS and ACLS certification required
- State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant
- Essential SkillsIn-depth knowledge of surgical practices and maintaining a sterile environment
- A demonstrated ability to interpret diagnostic tests and contribute to multifaceted clinical decisions
- Exceptional communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities
- Capacity to succeed in high-pressure situations, particularly during surgeries
