Philanthropic Advisor Endowment Partners | Las Vegas, NVFull-Time & In-Person | 7+ Years of Experience
Full Benefits: PTO, insurance (medical, vision, and dental), 401k match About Endowment Partners Endowment Partners is an investment management firm dedicated to helping nonprofit organizations, foundations, and philanthropic families build the financial infrastructure necessary to sustain their missions for generations. Our work extends well beyond investment management. We partner with organizations to create the framework for long-term financial sustainability. As our work with nonprofit organizations continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced Philanthropic Advisor to join our team and help our clients strengthen the connection between their mission, their donors, and their long-term financial sustainability.
The Opportunity: This role is designed for an experienced nonprofit development professional who loves the work but is ready for something broader. You may have spent much of your career advancing one organization or one cause, through building donor relationships, developing planned giving strategies, leading annual appeals, cultivating major gifts, or executing capital campaigns. At Endowment Partners, you will have the opportunity to bring that experience to many organizations and many causes. Rather than managing the day-to-day fundraising responsibilities of a single nonprofit, you will serve as a strategic advisor to a diverse group of nonprofit leaders, development teams, executives, and boards. One week you may help a university strengthen its planned giving strategy; the next, advise an arts organization on a campaign, help a human services organization identify major-gift opportunities, or work with a board to build the infrastructure necessary to grow an endowment. The common thread is helping organizations become stronger, more sophisticated, and more financially sustainable. This is an opportunity to multiply your impact.
What You Will Do: The Philanthropic Advisor will work directly with Endowment Partners clients to strengthen their fundraising and philanthropic strategies, with particular emphasis on major gifts, planned giving, donor engagement, and building long-term pools of philanthropic capital.
Responsibilities will include: Serve as a trusted philanthropic advisor to nonprofit executives, development professionals, board members, and other organizational leaders. Assess clients' existing development programs and identify opportunities to strengthen donor engagement, major giving, planned giving, annual giving, and capital development strategies. Help organizations develop and expand planned giving programs, including donor identification, messaging, cultivation strategies, educational initiatives, and gift conversations. Provide strategic oversight surrounding annual appeals and annual giving programs, helping organizations improve messaging, donor engagement, retention, and progression. Help organizations identify opportunities to move donors from transactional annual giving relationships toward deeper, longer-term philanthropic engagement. Coach executives, development professionals, and board members on effective donor conversations. Help boards better understand their role in philanthropy, donor development, and organizational sustainability. Facilitate board and leadership discussions, educational sessions, workshops, and strategic planning conversations. Collaborate with the Endowment Partners investment team to connect development strategy with endowment growth, reserve building, planned giving, and long-term financial sustainability. Help clients establish the policies, processes, materials, and internal infrastructure needed to successfully accept and steward more sophisticated charitable gifts. Develop donor-facing and board-facing educational materials, presentations, templates, and resources that can be used across the Endowment Partners client base. Stay current on philanthropic trends, charitable giving strategies, donor behavior, and developments affecting nonprofit fundraising. What Makes This Role Different This is not a traditional development position. There is no single annual budget, donor database, gala calendar, or fundraising goal that defines your success. Instead, you will have the opportunity to step into organizations as a strategic partner, bringing perspective gained from years of nonprofit experience and helping leadership teams solve challenges, recognize opportunities, and build stronger philanthropic programs. You will work across different missions, organizational sizes, leadership teams, donor communities, and stages of development. For someone who has spent years in the nonprofit sector, this role offers the opportunity to: Experience greater variety. Work with organizations spanning multiple philanthropic sectors rather than focusing on a single mission or institution. Have a broader impact. The strategies you develop can strengthen dozens of nonprofits and ultimately influence thousands of donors. Work at a more strategic level. Spend more time advising, teaching, developing strategy, and solving problems, and less time managing the administrative demands of a traditional development office. Bring your experience to the table. We are looking for someone who has been in the room with donors, boards, CEOs, and campaign committees and understands how fundraising actually works, not simply how it is supposed to work. Help organizations think beyond the next gift. Our goal is not simply to help clients raise money. It is to help them build durable philanthropic relationships and long-term financial sustainability. Who We’re Looking For The ideal candidate has spent a meaningful portion of their career working directly in nonprofit development and understands both the art and discipline of philanthropy. You should be comfortable moving between strategy and execution, advising a CEO one moment and helping a development professional think through a donor conversation the next.
Qualifications: 7+ years of progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, advancement, philanthropy, or a closely related field. Meaningful experience in several of the following areas: Major gifts Planned giving Annual giving and annual appeals Capital improvement projects Endowment gifts Donor stewardship Board engagement Development communications Demonstrated experience building trusted relationships with donors, nonprofit executives, development professionals, and board members. Strong understanding of the donor lifecycle, from identification and cultivation through solicitation and stewardship. Experience personally participating in significant donor conversations and gift solicitations. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to translate sophisticated concepts into clear, accessible conversations for donors and nonprofit leaders. Comfortable presenting to boards, committees, executive teams, and groups of donors. Strong strategic judgment and the ability to quickly understand different organizations, missions, and fundraising environments. Ability to manage relationships and projects across multiple clients simultaneously. Collaborative, intellectually curious, and energized by working with organizations representing a wide variety of causes. Experience with charitable gift planning, endowment development, complex gifts, donor-advised funds, charitable trusts, charitable gift annuities, or other planned-giving strategies is highly valued. Professional credentials such as CFRE, CAP®, CSPG, AEP®, or related philanthropic designations are welcomed but not required. The Person Who Will Thrive Here You may be a Director of Development, Major Gifts Officer, Planned Giving Officer, Vice President of Advancement, Chief Development Officer, or senior fundraising professional who has reached a point in your career where you want to use your experience differently. You still love philanthropy. You still love the moment when a donor discovers how their resources can create meaningful change. You still enjoy helping an organization articulate why its mission matters. But you may be ready to move beyond running the same annual development cycle year after year. You want to work on interesting problems. You want exposure to different organizations and causes. You enjoy advising and teaching. You want your experience to have an impact beyond a single institution. And you want to work alongside professionals who believe that investment strategy, governance, development, and long-term financial sustainability should not operate in silos. Our Philosophy Nonprofits are asked to solve problems that rarely disappear at the end of a fiscal year. We believe the organizations addressing those challenges deserve financial strategies that are equally long-term. That means helping clients build strong investment programs and governance structures, but it also means helping them create the donor relationships and philanthropic strategies necessary to continue adding capital to those programs. The Philanthropic Advisor will play an important role in bringing those disciplines together. Why Endowment Partners At Endowment Partners, you will join a team focused exclusively on organizations and families committed to philanthropy. You will have the opportunity to work alongside investment professionals, nonprofit leaders, board members, development teams, and donors while helping organizations answer one of their most important questions: How do we build the financial resources necessary to sustain this mission for generations? If you have built your career helping donors give and organizations grow, and are excited by the idea of bringing that expertise to many organizations rather than just one, we would love to meet you.
