Emerson Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a qualified Director of Housekeeping to lead our Environmental Services team! We're looking for a hands-on leader with proven supervisory experience who understands how to manage staff, coordinate schedules, control departmental expenses, and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming healthcare environment. Qualifications: What We're Looking ForREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSMINIMUM 1 YEAR OF HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE Previous experience in a housekeeping leadership position is required, preferably in a healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care setting. BUDGET & PAR LEVEL MANAGEMENT Must have knowledge of managing departmental budgets, monitoring expenses, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, and managing PAR levels. STAFF SCHEDULING & MANAGEMENT Must have prior experience creating employee schedules, managing staffing needs, supervising employees, and coordinating daily departmental assignments. EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Qualifications: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to train, motivate, and hold team members accountable. Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, sanitation, and infection prevention practices. Ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve operational challenges. Flexibility to provide weekend coverage as needed.
What You'll Do: As our Director of Housekeeping, you'll be responsible for the daily leadership and overall performance of our housekeeping department. Lead & Manage Staff: Supervise housekeeping employees, provide training, manage performance, and promote a positive, accountable work environment. Coordinate Staffing & Scheduling: Develop employee schedules, manage staffing coverage, assign daily responsibilities, and adjust schedules based on operational needs. Oversee Budgets & PAR Levels: Monitor departmental spending, manage supply inventory, maintain appropriate PAR levels, and ensure cost-effective operations. Maintain High Standards: Ensure all resident rooms, common areas, and facility spaces meet established cleanliness and sanitation standards. Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with applicable healthcare regulations, infection prevention protocols, and facility policies. Conduct Inspections: Perform routine inspections, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions when necessary. Collaborate With Leadership: Work closely with administration, nursing, maintenance, and other departments to support facility operations and resident satisfaction.
