RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a full-time Neurologist at Newark Beth Israel Medical Centerin Newark, NJto deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient neurological care. Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is a 665-bed quaternary teaching hospital staffed by more than 800 physicians providing advanced regional care. This full-time appointment offers a physician the opportunity to combine complex patient management, electrodiagnostic procedures, and resident education within New Jersey’s largest integrated healthcare system. Clinical Scope and Practice at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center The selected physician will provide clinical neurology services across both ambulatory practices and acute hospital units, collaborating closely with experienced neurologists, subspecialists, and surgical teams. Key clinical responsibilities and focus areas include: Diagnosing and treating complex acute conditions, including intracranial hemorrhage, demyelinating disorders, encephalopathy, status epilepticus, traumatic brain injury, and neurological infections. Participating actively in stroke services, Brain Attack Team (BAT) coverage, and scheduled stroke call rotations. Performing and interpreting electrodiagnostic studies, including electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction studies (NCS), and electroencephalograms (EEG).Managing post-operative neurosurgical recovery and leading critical neurological prognostication. Mentoring residents and medical students while contributing to protocol development, Joint Commission certification, and hospital-wide stroke quality initiatives. Candidate Qualifications and Requirements To succeed in this clinical and academic setting, applicants must demonstrate diagnostic expertise, strong communication skills, and a dedication to evidence-based medicine. Medical degree (MD or DO).Board certification or board eligibility in Neurology. Current New Jersey medical license or immediate eligibility for state licensure. The anticipated salary range for this role is$300,000 to $365,000 per year, with final placement within the range based on education, clinical skills, and relevant professional experience.
