Registered Nurse - School Nursing Make a meaningful impact by supporting a student who needs dedicated 1:1 nursing care in a vibrant school environment near Kirkland, WA. This onsite, contract opportunity is ideal for a Registered Nurse seeking a rewarding role providing both clinical skill and compassionate support to help a student thrive throughout their school day.
Key Qualifications:
- Current RN license in Washington state
- Experience with pediatric nursing, ideally within a school or community setting
- Proficiency in seizure recognition, monitoring, and emergency management
- Knowledge of respiratory care practices
- Background supporting students or individuals with complex medical needs is highly valued
- Comfortable accompanying the student on school transportation and collaborating with a paraprofessional
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide the full range of nursing support for a student requiring assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Monitor for and manage seizures, with an emphasis on rapid, safe intervention
- Deliver respiratory care as prescribed in the students individualized care plan
- Accompany the student on the school bus each day, ensuring continuity of care and safety during transit
- Collaborate with a dedicated paraprofessional and school staff to create a supportive educational experience
- Maintain detailed and confidential records of care and interventions
