RequirementsEducation and Experience: High school diploma or GED required
Current optician license required
Associates or Bachelor Degree in Marketing or related field preferred
Two years of experience as an optician in a busy practice required
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIESMust have proficient computer skills
Must be able to problem solve
Must be detailed oriented
Must have a working knowledge of post-operative Medicare, Medicare Replacement and Medicaid plans
Must have excellent communication skills, proper grammar and writing capability
Must be team-oriented
Must be self-directed, highly motivated, able to multi-task, work under pressure in a fast paced environment
Must be able to accurately and efficiently handle multiple projects at one time
Must have exceptional interpersonal skills
Must possess a caring, patient and friendly attitude
Must be familiar with all forms associated with the patient’s medical record (paper / electronic)
Must be familiar with the use and operation of optical software
Must be completely knowledgeable with lenses, frames and all optical supplies
Must have a comkplete understanding of optical inventory
Must have outstanding sales ability
Wide-ranging knowledge applicable to eye care and current trends in eyewear
Must have experience in conflict resolution
