Position Overview: We are seeking a data-driven Hospitality Business Analyst to join our growing team in Chicago. This hybrid role will support commercial, operations, marketing, and customer experience initiatives by analyzing guest behavior, booking patterns, revenue trends, and operational performance metrics. The ideal candidate will have experience leveraging customer behavior analytics to identify trends, improve guest engagement, optimize revenue opportunities, and drive strategic business decisions. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership, marketing, operations, revenue management, and technology teams to deliver actionable insights that enhance both the guest experience and business performance.
Key Responsibilities: Analyze customer and guest behavior data to identify trends, preferences, purchasing patterns, and opportunities for business growth. Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs related to occupancy, bookings, customer retention, loyalty programs, guest satisfaction, and revenue performance. Perform customer segmentation analysis and provide recommendations to improve targeted marketing campaigns and guest engagement strategies. Evaluate promotional effectiveness, pricing strategies, and customer acquisition initiatives. Partner with operations and revenue management teams to identify opportunities for increased profitability and improved customer experiences. Gather business requirements and translate operational needs into data-driven solutions. Conduct ad hoc analyses to support strategic initiatives, forecasting, budgeting, and business planning. Monitor key hospitality performance metrics, including RevPAR, ADR, occupancy, customer lifetime value, and retention rates. Identify process improvements and recommend business solutions based on analytical findings. Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Hospitality Management, Economics, Statistics, Marketing, or a related field.3+ years of experience in business analytics, customer analytics, revenue management analytics, or a related role. Hospitality, travel, lodging, entertainment, restaurant, or guest-services industry experience strongly preferred. Experience analyzing customer behavior, loyalty program data, purchasing trends, and guest engagement metrics. Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and data modeling. Experience with SQL and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Ability to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience working with CRM, reservation, POS, or hospitality management systems is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with predictive analytics, forecasting, or customer segmentation models. Knowledge of hospitality performance metrics and revenue management concepts. Exposure to machine learning, AI-powered analytics tools, or advanced statistical analysis. Experience supporting marketing, loyalty, or customer experience initiatives.
