If you want to own automation projects from first scope through production, this Electrical Engineer role is built for you.
Position Summary: We are hiring an Electrical Engineer to advance automation in our Teutopolis, Illinois manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on engineering position. You will solve production-floor equipment challenges, program controls and robotics, and carry projects from concept through a successful production launch. If you take ownership, learn unfamiliar systems, and want work that produces visible results, this is an opportunity to build a high-impact engineering career. You will work with manufacturing engineering, maintenance, production, safety, quality, and IT to make equipment more reliable, connected, and capable.
Key Responsibilities: Scope and execute automation projects, including robotic installations, conveyor improvements, equipment upgrades, and controls enhancements. Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, drives, robotic systems, and related controls, then bring projects through commissioning and production. Partner with maintenance and production teams to diagnose recurring equipment issues, improve reliability, and keep critical machinery performing. Help specify, install, test, and commission new equipment while maintaining accurate electrical drawings, schematics, standard work, and process documentation. Connect production equipment with company data systems, maintain backup programs, develop predictive monitoring tools, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and manage power costs. Stay close to the work by pitching in on practical tasks, including building a control box when the project calls for it.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering. Hands-on PLC programming capability, including the ability to write or modify programs for manufacturing equipment. Robotics or mechatronics experience gained through professional work, an internship, coursework, or a college team or club. The ability to troubleshoot electrical and control systems in an industrial manufacturing environment. A self-starting, adaptable approach and the confidence to learn new PLC platforms, work through obstacles, and own the outcome. The ability to work fully on-site in Teutopolis, Illinois, with occasional travel and occasional weekend support when equipment or projects require it. We offer a salary range of $100,000 to $120,000, annual performance increases, profit-sharing potential, and an employee stock ownership contribution equal to 6% of salary. You will also have access to a strong benefits package that includes a 200% 401(k) match, medical, dental, vision, paid time off, nine paid holidays, educational assistance, on-site childcare, and more. Relocation support may be available on a case-by-case basis. If you are ready to build automation solutions that make a measurable difference, apply today.
