Position: Genetics Counselor Assistant, Department of Medical Genetics

Location: Evanston Hospital – Evanston, ILFull TimeWhat You Will DoProvide brief conversation related to the benefits of testing, clinical utility of testing, and the possible family impacts of genetic testing. Assist patient with decision to schedule an appointment or obtain testing for patients scheduled in GCC schedule Document personal and family history and gather information necessary to determine reason for visit Support informed decision making regarding genetic testing and health management options Schedules new and established patient visits in accordance with patient preference and physician availability Coordinate patient care daily via check-in, order input, paperwork organization, end of day follow up of no-shows/cancellations Administrative duties as it relates to patient care and follow through

Education: Bachelor’s degree required

Experience: Minimum one year of work experience in genetic counseling setting preferred. Experience with Epic or other EMR system preferred.

Skills: Strong communication skills. Ability to be flexible in meeting the demands of patients and physicians.
