Apply for this role →Senior Spectrum Engineer, Regulatory Affairs, Remote (Preference for San Diego County, CA or Washington, DC), $180,000-$300,000 per year Are you a satellite regulatory expert with deep FCC licensing experience and strong knowledge of international spectrum policy? Our client, a leading global satellite communications and connectivity company, is seeking a senior technical leader to help secure and protect critical spectrum assets while influencing regulatory decisions on a global scale. This is a highly visible role combining advanced engineering analysis, FCC regulatory strategy, and international telecommunications coordination with organizations such as the ITU and key standards bodies.
Who you are:
- 10+ years of experience in satellite communications, spectrum management, regulatory affairs, or a related field
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline
- Deep expertise in FCC licensing, FCC regulatory filings, market access, and satellite/Earth station licensing (required)
- Strong knowledge of ITU Radio Regulations, international telecommunications policy, frequency coordination, and global satellite regulatory processes
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
What you'll do:
- Lead engineering analyses related to spectrum management, interference assessments, frequency sharing, and satellite regulatory matters
- Prepare and support FCC filings for satellite systems, Earth stations, licensing, and market access activities
- Represent the organization at international regulatory meetings and industry forums, including ITU, CITEL, 3GPP, and ETSILead frequency coordination discussions with satellite operators, administrations, and regulators worldwide
- Advise engineering, business, legal, and executive leadership on regulatory risks, opportunities, and spectrum strategy

- Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and education.
- The expected range for this role is $180,000-$300,000 per year. Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
