Come join one of Puget Sound's Best Places to Work! Our culture at Teleion embodies the spirit of a startup with a sense of ownership and an employee-led business model. Employees can grow their career and have fun while doing it! Teleion is looking for a Digital Copywriter to join our team! Successful candidates will have strong digital copywriting experience and can work cross-functionally with our client's design, marketing, and product stakeholders to deliver polished, on-brand content.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role leads an overhaul of copywriting across digital experiences, focused on web, app, and digital marketing surfaces (not print). The goal is copy that feels vibrant, speaks to a broad audience of all ages, and matches brand storytelling and expectations, built specifically for digital surfaces. This is a senior, hands-on role for a copywriter who has led copy for a banking or financial services brand. The right person thinks about SEO/SEM performance and layout/placement as part of the writing process itself, not as an afterthought. They set the standard other writers follow and are comfortable owning copy sprint over sprint in an agile delivery model.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Write and revise copy across digital experiences (web, app, digital marketing surfaces), not print collateral. Write copy for assigned product lines or channels, contributing to the SEO content plan and paid messaging approach, not just individual pages. Apply SEO/SEM best practices to copywriting, not just brand voice and tone. Account for how placement, layout, and sizing affect how copy performs online, adapting writing accordingly. Apply and help refine content guidance for reusable components (length, hierarchy, truncation) in partnership with design. Deliver tone that works for a broad, all-ages audience while staying true to brand storytelling and established voice and tone guidelines. Give and receive peer feedback on copy to keep quality consistent across the team. Partner with legal and compliance through review cycles. Work through wording changes to protect clarity and brand voice, and contribute to reusable assets such as pre-approved claims and disclosure patterns. Set up and analyze copy tests (A/B and variant testing) and share results and recommendations with the team and stakeholders. Work within an agile delivery model: estimate copy work, deliver, and revise based on feedback, sprint over sprint. Perform tasks as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Must-have:
Financial services background (banking, credit union, credit card, lending/mortgage, or fintech) with copy that went through legal/compliance review.10+ years of hands-on digital copywriting. A portfolio that specifically shows digital/SEO copywriting in banking or financial services, not only brand or print work. This includes keyword-informed page and header structure, meta titles and descriptions, internal-linking-aware writing, and contributions to an SEO content plan with measurable results. SEM and paid ad experience: writing and iterating headlines, descriptions, and CTAs for search and paid social, building A/B test plans or messaging matrices, and running copy experiments in Optimizely or a comparable platform. Data-driven: reads performance metrics (CTR, CPA, conversion, engagement) to guide revisions and clearly shares copy results and recommendations with stakeholders. Strong in regulated environments: works smoothly through legal/compliance review cycles and builds in required disclosures while keeping brand voice. Able to flex tone for a wide age range. UX writing and microcopy skills (buttons, form fields, error states, in-product copy). Writes with placement, layout, and sizing on digital surfaces in mind, using plain language and WCAG-conscious practices. Comfortable in agile/sprint-based delivery with iterative feedback and remediation cycles. Working knowledge of a CMS (ideally Optimizely) and SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Google Search Console. This is a full time role and Teleion offers full benefits, PTO, holiday, 401(k).
