Custodian Position
Salary: $27.37 Per Hour
Position Summary: Perform a wide variety of custodial, building, grounds maintenance, and cleaning tasks. Assume responsibility for a specific area of the building and grounds. Report any necessary preventative maintenance tasks to the supervising custodian. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following:
  • Complete work assignments daily and help other workers as necessary
  • Know and execute the building security procedures as needed
  • Support the maintenance of safe and healthy work/play conditions throughout the campus
  • Utilize appropriate energy conservation measures
  • Observe and follow safety and health regulations and District guidelines
  • Maintain excellent communication with the principal or immediate supervisor
  • Assist and work harmoniously with community groups as needed

  • Keep the Head Custodian or Night Lead informed of needed supplies
  • Monitor persons entering the building for night activities; i.e., open and secure designated areas as needed
  • Clean and maintain around outside of the buildings, including flowerbeds, gutters, drains, etc
  • Wash windows
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Maintain a good work attendance record, be punctual, and follow District procedures for reporting all absences
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Requirements: Work scheduled hours on a consistent basis
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with operating custodial/maintenance equipment
Condition of Employment: Criminal background clearance: current fingerprints on file or be willing to be fingerprinted at the cost of $55.00 Reliable transportation Attend a pre-employment training Knowledge of:

Physical Demands: This position requires physical stamina. Position also requires sitting, lifting, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, working at heights, walking, grasping, holding, cleaning, removing, unlocking, opening, pushing, pulling, hearing, speaking, and writing or keyboarding. This position will lift at least 35 lbs. on a regular basis and at least 50 lbs. on an occasional basis.
Work Environment: Position requires operating dangerous mechanical systems and/or machines, exposure to noise, hazardous chemicals, high voltage, inclement weather and varying temperatures. Must be available to work unusual hours in emergencies. May work alone in building at times; at multiple locations in a single shift and be required to work on weekends.
Work Schedule: This position typically works, Monday through Friday with possible Saturdays, Day Shift or Swing Shift, This is an at-will, on-call substitute position. Assignments vary from day to day. Reporting Relationship:
