Level 2 NDT Inspector — Aerospace Engine Shop Location: Miami-Dade
Salary: Competitive/up to $45 per hour for the right experience The client is a growing aerospace engine shop building out its NDT team, and they are looking for a Level 2 NDT Inspector who takes real pride in the detail nobody sees. The successful candidate will inspect engine components using Magnetic Particle (MPI) and Fluorescent Penetrant (FPI) methods, and will be the last line of defence between a fatigue crack and the sky.
About the Role: The role sits within a growing aerospace engine shop and focuses on the inspection of engine components. The client is looking for someone with hands-on NDT experience in an aerospace or engine MRO environment - someone who genuinely understands engine components, inspection standards and the realities of aerospace quality. Anyone who knows their way around an engine shop will feel at home quickly.
Key Responsibilities: Carry out Level 2 MPI and FPI inspections on aircraft engine components. Inspect components for cracks, discontinuities and other defects in accordance with approved procedures. Interpret and evaluate NDT indications against applicable specifications and acceptance criteria. Complete accurate inspection reports and maintain traceable records. Follow approved NDT procedures, technical data and customer requirements. Work closely with Inspectors, Mechanics, Quality and Engine Shop teams. Support inspection activities across engine modules and piece parts. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with FAA/EASA Part 145, company procedures and applicable quality standards. Maintain NDT equipment and ensure inspection areas are operated safely and correctly.
Requirements: Experience in MPI and FPI/PT methods. Previous experience working within an aircraft engine, aerospace or MRO environment. Hands-on experience inspecting aircraft engine components is essential. Ability to interpret technical documentation and NDT procedures. Good understanding of aerospace inspection standards and quality requirements. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document inspection results. Relevant aerospace/NDT qualifications and approvals are highly desirable. Why This Role Engine shops don't run without people who can be trusted with the call. Here, the successful candidate's read on an indication matters — it goes into a traceable record, onto a component, and back into service. The role spans engine modules and piece parts, working shoulder to shoulder with Inspectors, Mechanics, Quality and Engine Shop teams, in a shop that is actively growing. For anyone who wants inspection work that actually carries weight, this is it.
