Apply for this role (opens in a new tab)Private Equity Associate / Senior Associate Firm: Third Space Partners
Location: New York City About Third Space Partners
Third Space Partners is a private equity firm focused on the businesses powering the experience economy. Our name comes from “third places”: the stadiums, festival grounds, arenas, youth sports facilities, and other venues where people spend their time outside home and work, connecting with their passions and each other. We invest in the essential services, logistics, and infrastructure businesses that make these spaces function, including staging, lighting, production, technology, and storage, and selectively invest in experiences, venues, and participation infrastructure directly. Our team combines institutional investing experience with deep operational expertise, taking a hands-on approach to value creation and partnership. We work closely with founders and management teams to accelerate growth, strengthen execution, and build durable businesses positioned for long-term success. With a presence in New York and Los Angeles, Third Space Partners is a lean, collaborative, and entrepreneurial team dedicated to building the next generation of category-defining businesses across the experience economy. The firm is investing out of its inaugural fund, offering an opportunity to help shape the foundation and culture of a growing investment platform.
Role Overview:
Third Space Partners is seeking a highly motivated Investment Associate or Senior Associate to join our team. Title and compensation will be commensurate with experience. We are focused on individuals with a deep passion for investing and business building who are committed to developing a long-term career with us. This role will function as a core member of the deal team, working directly with senior leadership, portfolio company executives, limited partners, and the other members of the Third Space team. You will be involved across the investment lifecycle, including thesis formulation, due diligence, financial analysis and valuation, and identification and execution of value-creation strategies. You will also play an active role in synthesizing diligence findings, preparing investment materials, including complex financial modeling and analysis, and contributing to investment committee discussions. The position offers broad exposure beyond traditional deal execution. You will collaborate with our portfolio companies on post-investment improvement plans, partner with lenders and advisors on financing initiatives, and engage with external consultants across commercial, accounting, legal and functional workstreams. You will also support research efforts and contribute to thematic sourcing and new investment idea development. This is a highly entrepreneurial environment with meaningful responsibility. The role provides an opportunity to build real investment judgment, work closely with senior leadership, and play a hands-on role in both investing and value creation across our portfolio and within the firm. This position is based in our New York City office and is expected to work in office at least four days per week. The role requires periodic travel for diligence, portfolio company and management meetings, and industry events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thematic research to support investment theses and identify new opportunities
- Execute diligence workstreams, including commercial, financial, operational, and industry analysis
- Assist in developing investment theses, transaction structures, and key business questions, and synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights for the investment committee

- Prepare investment materials, including memos, presentations, and supporting analyses for internal and external stakeholders
- Support portfolio companies through ongoing monitoring, operational improvement workstreams, and corporate development and value-creation initiatives, collaborating closely with management teams and firm operating resources
- Engage with lenders, advisors, and third-party experts to support financing processes and diligence efforts
- Support fundraising and investor relations efforts, including preparation of marketing materials
- Contribute to proactive sourcing and pipeline development by tracking priority themes, markets, and company relationships
- Help manage day-to-day deal processes and coordinate closely with team members, advisors, and diligence providers
- Other relevant tasks and responsibilities as reasonably required by the Third Space team
- Qualities and Capabilities:
- Collaborative, low-ego leadership style, prioritizing team success over personal credit; actively listens, builds rapport across levels, and contributes to a culture of positivity and respect
- Strong professional presence and the maturity to represent the firm with management teams, lenders, advisors, and limited partners
- Self-starter with demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities independently
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively across seniority levels and external stakeholders
- Genuine passion for investing, value creation, and building businesses over the long term
- High attention to detail, intellectual rigor, and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Strong technical foundation in finance, accounting, and valuation, with experience applying analytical frameworks to real investment decisions
- Resourceful problem-solver with sound judgment, curiosity, and willingness to take ownership and drive workstreams forward
- Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year undergraduate program
- Associate: two to four years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, or a comparable investing role
