Apply for this role →Cleanroom Production Technician The Cleanroom Production Technician sets up and operates production equipment, transports wafer lots throughout a large cleanroom facility, and performs data entry and visual quality checks to support semiconductor manufacturing. This role follows detailed safety, cleanroom, chemical, and wafer handling procedures while working closely with team members to maintain quality, productivity, and efficient workflow in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with production priorities and established procedures. Transport and deliver wafer lots throughout a 100,000 square foot cleanroom facility in a timely and accurate manner. Perform data entry related to production, inventory, and process tracking with a high level of accuracy. Conduct visual quality control inspections on wafers and related materials to identify defects or issues. Collaborate with team members to resolve quality and productivity challenges and maintain smooth operations. Follow all specified safety procedures, including cleanroom, chemical handling, and wafer handling protocols. Handle materials and chemicals safely, adhering to strict process requirements and documentation standards. Use pass-down notes and other communication tools to effectively share information between shifts and team members. Maintain inventory control by loading, packing, picking, and moving materials as required for production. Operate material handling equipment such as carts and potentially forklifts, as appropriate to the role and training. Keep up with production pace to ensure consistent workflow across departments and minimize bottlenecks. Adhere to cleanroom rules, including proper gowning procedures and restrictions on personal items and products. Walk and stand frequently during 12-hour shifts, including walking up and down stairs as required by the facility layout. Lift wafer boxes above shoulder height using both hands and manipulate them carefully with fingers to avoid damage. Push and pull carts with loads up to 25 pounds throughout the cleanroom and facility. Follow written procedures and verbal instructions accurately, ensuring consistent process execution. Comply with attendance and punctuality expectations for full-time, compressed work week schedules, including weekend shifts. Essential Skills:
Proven ability to follow strict processes and detailed written procedures accurately. Ability to follow verbal directions and adapt to changing production priorities. Demonstrated capability to communicate effectively within a team environment, including using pass-down notes between shifts. Strong material handling skills, including safe movement of wafer boxes and carts up to 25 pounds. Ability to work in a warehouse or manufacturing environment with inventory control, loading, packing, picking, and shipping and receiving tasks. Comfort working in a cleanroom environment with strict safety, chemical handling, and wafer handling procedures. Ability to walk and stand frequently throughout 12-hour shifts and to walk up and down stairs regularly. Capability to lift above the head with two hands and manipulate wafer boxes using fingers with care and precision. Ability to push and pull carts with moderate loads in a controlled and safe manner. Reliability in maintaining excellent attendance and punctuality in a 24/7 manufacturing setting. Team-oriented mindset with a focus on supporting workflow and productivity across departments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, cleanroom operations, or similar high-tech production environments is a plus. Experience in inventory control, RF scanners, and material tracking systems is beneficial. Experience with forklift operation or other material handling equipment is advantageous where applicable. Prior work in shipping and receiving, loading, and packing functions is helpful. Ability to adapt to compressed work week schedules and 12-hour shifts, including weekend work. Comfort wearing full cleanroom garments such as jumpsuits, hoods, safety glasses, gloves, masks, hairnets, and specialized footwear. Willingness to comply with cleanroom restrictions on personal items, including cell phones and personal care products. Work Environment:
This role is based in a semiconductor manufacturing facility with extensive cleanrooms throughout the site. All duties are performed in a controlled cleanroom environment while wearing full cleanroom garments, including a full-body jumpsuit, hood, safety glasses, nitrile or surgical gloves, face mask, hairnet, and cleanroom shoes. The cleanroom prohibits the use of personal cell phones, makeup, hairspray, hair gel, perfume, and cologne to protect product quality and maintain contamination control. The facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and uses full-time compressed work week schedules with 12-hour shifts. Shifts include day and night options, and all schedules require working either Saturday or Sunday. Overtime is paid after 10 hours worked on each shift. Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
