The Research Farm Specialist 2 is responsible for assisting with agricultural research in an experimental farm environment at the Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center/Research.
Minimum Qualifications: Two years of experience in research farming or in farm management; OR Three years of experience in farming; OR Twelve semester hours in an agricultural field. Job Duties: Mixing feed according to research specifications, evaluating health of animals and treating diseases. Empties and decontaminates trash containers. Adjust and maintain complex equipment and operate experimental plot equipment to establish, maintain and harvest research plots with a high level precision Assist with the care and management of animals involved in assigned research projects. Assist with agricultural research in an experimental farm environment Mix chemicals according to instructions on container labels Record and report data and maintain accurate research records. Discuss research projects with professional researchers to devise methods and provide technical farming expertise. Position-Specific Details:
