Apply for this role →CMC are supporting one of our partners and seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a 6-month contract supporting the design and development of high-speed motor-generator and rotating machinery systems.
Location: LA (CA) - Hybrid schudule
Duration: 6-month contract (extension potential)
Rate: Dependent on each consultant Core Focus:
- Mechanical design of high-speed rotating equipment and turbomachinery systems
- 3D CAD design and detailed engineering (SolidWorks)
- Structural, thermal, and dynamic analysis using FEA
- Rotor dynamics support including bearings, seals, and couplings
- Design from concept through build, test, and validation support
- Manufacturing and assembly support, including troubleshooting hardware issues
- Engineering documentation, drawings, and design deliverables
Required Experience:
- BS Mechanical Engineering
- High-speed rotating equipment, turbomachinery, compressors, turbines, or motor-generators
- Rotor dynamics and mechanical design of rotating systems
- SolidWorks proficiency
- FEA experience (structural required)
- Strong GD&T knowledge and hands-on engineering approach
Preferred:
- API 617 exposure
- ASME VIII pressure vessel experience
- MIL-STD-810 familiarity
