Work location: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104 Physical Therapy department Work hours: PRN: On an as needed basis, coverage between Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM, with some weekends and holidays. Weekend requirement: 4 weekend days every quarter and 1 holiday per year. Qualifications
Here's What You Need: Bachelor's degree completion of a Physical Therapist program required. Acute care experience preferred, but New Grads are welcome! PT - Physical Therapist Texas - Physical Therapy License Upon Hire RequiredBCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required Good verbal and written communication skills in English. Problem-solving ability, Ability to teach others and Time management skills. Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills Staff Certifications: Geriatric Clinical Specialists (ABPTS) Orthopedic Clinical Specialists (ABPTS) Wound Management Clinical Specialist (ABPTS) Certified lymphedema therapists Certified hand therapists What You Will DoPerforms age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care. Performs treatment procedures/techniques that are within the scope of the professional license. Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment. Initiates therapy discharge planning in collaboration with care team and patient based on prognosis and expected discharge disposition. Attends and/or leads hospital, department, and community meetings / educational in-services.
