Groundskeeper - Maderas Golf Club

Essential Functions: Performs general landscape maintenance using handheld equipment. Rakes and maintains sand bunkers. Operates small machinery to assist with edging, trimming and mowing. Prepares soil beds for sod, seed and vegetative material. Involved with tasks related to course detail (weed and debris clean up). Assists with golf course set-up procedures. Operates utility vehicles for hauling material and removing debris. Performs skilled duties related to experience (pruning, plugging, etc.). Operates equipment safely and is aware of associates and their prospective work areas. Incorporates safe work practices in job performance. Drive and maneuver golf carts safely. Maintain satisfactory attendance. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscaping, particularly in a golf course or park setting. Must possess the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level necessary to safely and effectively perform the essential functions of the job, including following oral and written instructions, reading safety information, and completing required documentation. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Ability to perform all essential functions of the job description.

Preferred Qualifications: Ability to operate various types of power equipment including lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and other landscaping equipment. Ability to use hand tools required for landscaping. Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments. Extensive knowledge of landscaping techniques and processes. Excellent time management skills. Previous experience preferred. On-the-job training offered.

Physical Demands: Frequently stands, walks, sits; uses hands; frequently reaches with hands and arms; frequently talks and hears. Occasionally climbs or balances; occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, squats or crawls; occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds. Must be able to traverse various athletic grounds and facilities. Environment/Noise: Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present. Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is loud.
