Apply for this role →Clinical Instructor/Clinical Assistant Professor/Clinical Associate Professor/Clinical Professor/Teaching Assistant Professor/Teaching Associate Professor/Teaching Professor/Research Assistant Professor/Research Associate Professor/Research Professor The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, in conjunction with ECU Health Medical Center, seeks part-time faculty pathologists to fill various needs in surgical, clinical, and forensic pathology. It is anticipated that candidates will provide services on a part-time, temporary, periodic basis for up to 30 hours per week, as needed. Board certified pathologists with varying backgrounds, disciplines, and interests in pathology are encouraged to apply. Faculty positions are available at the titles Clinical Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor, Teaching Assistant Professor, Teaching Associate Professor, Teaching Professor, Research Assistant Professor, Research Associate Professor, and Research Professor. Positions are 12-month, fixed term appointments. Position will remain open and applications remain active until 12/31/2026.The mission of the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine is to improve the health and well-being of the citizens of eastern North Carolina and beyond by delivering high quality pathology services, by providing exemplary education, and by creating new knowledge through research. The department upholds its commitment to provide the best diagnosis and treatment monitoring services to the citizens of eastern North Carolina. The primary purpose of the position is to provide timely pathology services of the highest quality, be recognized as exceptional educators, be valued as researchers and research collaborators, leverage new technology to provide better service, continuously improve the services provided, and be the dominant pathology group in the region, distinguished by specialty expertise, and by an extensive and unique list of services. Minimum education, knowledge, skills, and experience required include an MD or DO from an appropriately accredited institution, eligibility for medical licensure in the State of North Carolina, and board certification or eligibility for board certification. For research positions, a Master's degree for the specialty for which they want to be considered from an appropriately accredited institution is required.
