Laboratory Assistant-Histology

Hours: 40hrs

Shift: Day shift, 7:30am - 4:00pm

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the department Clinical Specialist and Pathologists and in coordination with Medical and Administrative Director and Laboratory Managers, perform basic pre-analytical technical and clerical duties including but not limited to: specimen receipt, specimen integrity acceptability, specimen processing, assist with basic hazardous chemical waste disposal, stain filtration and set up for fresh froze section reagents, and cleaning of instruments.

Qualifications: Successful completion of High School or equivalency required. Certification in Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Up to and including one year experience. Combination of education and experience as a microbiology specimen processor/lab assistant equivalent for at least 6 months accepted. Certification in Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant preferred. Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.

Pay Range: USD $21.94 - USD $28.82 /Hr.
