A growing healthcare organization is seeking an accomplished Vice President of Sales & Marketing to lead its commercial strategy and support the next stage of growth. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for an experienced healthcare commercial executive who combines strategic leadership with a hands-on, growth-oriented approach.
About the Role:
The Vice President will bring sales and marketing together under a unified commercial strategy, providing leadership across business development, market positioning, pipeline development, channel strategy, and new client acquisition. The successful candidate will inherit an established foundation and will be responsible for building upon that success by creating greater structure, accountability, market presence, and scalability. This is an opportunity for a commercial leader who enjoys building. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing strategy, coaching a sales organization, establishing performance expectations, cultivating executive relationships, and personally engaging in the market when needed.
Responsibilities:
Lead the organization's overall sales and marketing strategy, aligning commercial activities with long-term growth objectives. Develop and execute strategies to expand new business across employer, healthcare, benefits, payer, broker, consultant, and other relevant channels. Provide leadership, coaching, structure, and accountability to an experienced sales organization. Establish and manage sales goals, territories, performance metrics, pipeline expectations, forecasting, and commercial reporting. Partner with marketing to strengthen market positioning, brand awareness, lead generation, content strategy, and industry presence. Develop and expand relationships with brokers, consultants, channel partners, employers, healthcare organizations, and other strategic partners. Maintain executive-level involvement in key opportunities throughout the sales process, from relationship development and solution positioning through proposal and contract execution. Partner closely with pricing, underwriting, operations, product, finance, and other internal stakeholders to develop competitive and operationally sound solutions. Evaluate existing commercial processes and identify opportunities to improve scalability, efficiency, pipeline development, and conversion. Represent the organization at industry conferences, client meetings, and other market-facing events. Help shape the future structure and capabilities of the commercial organization as the business continues to grow.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required; advanced degree preferred.
Required Skills:
10+ years of progressive healthcare sales, business development, or commercial leadership experience.5+ years of commercial experience within pharmacy benefits, health plans, specialty pharmacy, employee benefits, or a closely related healthcare sector. Demonstrated success generating and growing new business within complex B2B healthcare environments. Experience leading and developing experienced sales professionals while remaining actively engaged in business development. Strong understanding of complex healthcare sales cycles, including RFPs, pricing, proposals, contracting, and cross-functional deal execution. Established relationships within relevant employer, broker, consultant, payer, health system, or benefits markets. Demonstrated ability to create commercial strategy and translate that strategy into measurable execution. Executive-level communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
