Responsibilities: 4-year degree in related field or 3-10 years of related experience Experience installing groundwater and surface water instrumentation systems around dams, levees, and CCR sites for real-time data collection and performance monitoring Instrumentation and maintenance will include inclinometers, water quality equipment (pH, ORP, DO, turbidity, conductivity), portable solar battery charging stations, and cellular and satellite communication systems Experience executing field investigations utilizing various drilling methods and resources Experience with soil and rock logging, monitoring well construction, groundwater monitoring, and field data reporting Providing technical and safety oversight to drilling contractors and consultants Special Notes Typical work week is 4 days, 10 hours each (Monday - Thursday), with some 10-day shifts Extensive travel throughout the southeastern United States, mainly Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi Agency will provide a vehicle (e.g., Ford F250 4X4 or similar); monthly rental paid by the Agency and reimbursed by Southern Company, with no markup Reimbursements will include fuel costs, lodging, and meals related to work travel and overnight stays
