Tube Laser Operator

Base Pay: $24.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience and skill level. In addition to base hourly pay, employees have the opportunity to earn production-based commission through our Team Productivity Model (TPM). This additional compensation is based on team production and productivity performance and is not a traditional sales commission. Commission earnings are performance-based and are not guaranteed.

Responsibilities: Set up and operate CNC tube laser cutting equipment. Independently set up jobs and prepare the machine for production. Load and unload tube, pipe, and other material into the machine. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job specifications. Select and load the correct programs for each job. Make machine and cutting parameter adjustments as necessary to maintain cut quality and dimensional accuracy. Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet drawing specifications and required tolerances. Monitor machine operation and identify issues with cut quality, material, programs, or machine setup. Troubleshoot problems and make adjustments to keep production running efficiently. Inspect material before and during production for defects or other issues. Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and consumable replacement as required. Safely move raw material and completed parts using a forklift. Deliver completed parts to the next department. Maintain an organized work area and properly identify material and finished parts. Work as part of a team and communicate with scheduling and other departments as production and customer requirements change.

Qualifications: Previous tube laser operating experience is REQUIRED.Previous CNC tube laser setup experience is REQUIRED.Must be capable of setting up and operating a tube laser independently. Experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing is REQUIRED.Ability to accurately read a tape measure is REQUIRED.Ability to use measuring equipment such as calipers, squares, and other inspection tools. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and blueprints is REQUIRED.Experience working with different sizes, shapes, and thicknesses of tube and pipe. Understanding of laser cutting quality, machine parameters, and common cutting problems. Ability to troubleshoot machine, setup, and cut-quality issues. Basic computer and CNC machine control experience. Forklift experience is preferred. Ability to handle a physical workload and stand for extended periods. Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team. Ability to adapt to changing production schedules and customer requirements.

Work Environment: Please note that we work in a manufacturing facility located outside of Houston, Texas. The building is insulated but NOT climate controlled. During the summer, temperatures inside the facility can reach approximately 105°ree; F with high humidity. During the winter, temperatures can drop into the mid-30s°ree; F.Applicants must be comfortable working in these conditions.
