Legal Assistant- VA

Job Title: VA Disability Legal Assistant

Location: 100% Remote

Schedule: Full-Time

Compensation: $18 depending on experience 1099

Key Responsibilities: Serve as the primary point of contact for client and attorney communications Utilize the firm’s case management system to coordinate, prepare, and process forms, correspondence, and other items involved in VA disability claims Obtain statements and symptomology as necessary for paralegal and attorney Request, track, and organize medical records for submission to the VA and/or use in hearings Must be able to successfully pass a background check, including verification of criminal and financial history.

Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience working on VA disability claims, either within a law firm, at the Veterans Administration, or other related organization Strong time management, communication, and organizational skills Adherence to deadlines and appropriate follow up procedure Confident in managing frequent client communication, answering questions, and directing clients to the appropriate team member or resource. Self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable in a remote work environment Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Abode Ability to pass a background check – clear of criminal

Preferred Qualifications: Prior service in the U.S. military or spouse. Experience working in a small law firm environment Experience with VBMS, VetPro, and similar case management platforms
