Required Qualifications: PhD in relevant engineering or science discipline. Expertise in one of the technical research areas of interest (Composite Development and Manufacturing OR Human-Like Robotics). Ability to multi-task, collaboratively work in interdisciplinary teams, and work on projects independently. Able to present findings/results through both oral and written communication to internal and external stakeholders. Strong research record evidenced in peer-reviewed publications.
Preferred Qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Postdoctoral Research Associate at UTARI will conduct applied research and development in one of the following technical areas: Composite Development and Manufacturing (intelligent composites, high-temperature composites, hybrid composite manufacturing, design of metamaterials, and/or non-destructive structural health monitoring and performance prediction) Human-Like Robotics (humanoid robotics, co-bots, soft robotics, and/or wearable sensing skins/technologies) They will be responsible for applying theory and engineering techniques to the design, modeling, and/or development of novel systems and/or conduct experimental testing and analysis as applied to one of the technical areas listed above. Responsibilities also include: identifying relevant funding opportunities; contributing to or leading writing efforts on proposals, publications, reports, and presentations; developing academic and industry collaboration partnerships; and maintaining awareness of current technological advancements related to your field.
