One (1) year of experience in the construction, operation, and/or maintenance of wastewater collection systems, storm drain systems, or general plumbing trade work.
Licenses and Certifications: Possession of a valid California Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record to be maintained throughout employment. Possession of, or successful obtainment within twelve (12) months of appointment, a valid California Class A Driver’s License, with a tanker endorsement, and a satisfactory driving record to be maintained throughout employment. Possession of a Grade I Wastewater Collection System Operator Certificate issued by the California Water Environment Association (CWEA) is required within eighteen (18) months of employment, to be maintained throughout employment. The Wastewater Division is looking for an individual desiring to start a career in the public sector as a Wastewater Collection System Worker. The ideal candidate is someone with wastewater collection system experience or certification, general construction and traffic control knowledge, and the ability to obtain a Class A license. This candidate must possess a positive attitude, be willing to learn, have the ability to communicate clearly, and fit into a team environment, which is key to the Division’s success.
