Senior Full Stack EngineerLOCATION: Chantilly, VA or Remote/Hybrid CLEARANCE: Active Top Secret, TS/SCI, or Intel Agency clearance EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required EXPERIENCE: Minimum 10 years JOIN OUR GROWING TEAM At Linchpin Software, we are building a team, not filling seats. We are looking for senior full stack engineers who like variety, want real ownership, and want to grow with a program that keeps taking on new and interesting mission problems. This is a heterogeneous program. No two problems look the same, and our work spans three main areas: - Data engineering: building secure ingest pipelines, designing large relational, vector, and graph data stores, and enabling high-performance analysis across structured and unstructured data - User-facing workflows and presentation: building the web applications, visual analytics, and interfaces analysts use every day - On-prem GenAI: a new and growing scope of work integrating locally hosted GenAI and multi-model AI into analytic workflows, in air-gapped and cross-domain environments You do not need to be an expert in all three. If you are a strong full stack engineer with deep experience in at least one of these areas and curiosity about the others, we want to talk to you.
ABOUT THE ROLE: As a Software Developer SME, you will be a technical leader for an in-house, custom-developed analytic application. You will help set architecture, development standards, and modernization strategy, while staying hands-on in design, development, testing, and delivery. You will build scalable, secure, high-performing solutions aligned with zero trust principles and interoperability requirements, and you will mentor teammates along the way.
WHAT YOU WILL DO: Design, build, test, and enhance full stack enterprise applications (UI, backend, and middleware) - Build data processing workflows and analytics that power desktop and web-based visual analytic tools - Build secure data ingest pipelines using open-source, COTS, and GOTS technologies - Design and optimize relational, vector, and graph databases and integrate them with existing data warehouses - Integrate reasoning components, retrieval systems, databases, and on-prem AI / GenAI services into analytic workflows - Establish architectural frameworks, secure coding standards, and development best practices - Lead technical initiatives and mentor engineers across the team REQUIRED SKILLS - 10+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise-scale software - Strong full stack skills with modern languages and frameworks (for example TypeScript, React, Python) - Expertise in software design patterns and application architecture - Strong experience in at least one of: data engineering (SQL, relational database design, ETL/ELT), user-facing application and visualization development, or AI / GenAI integration - Knowledge of application security, secure coding, and software quality assurance - Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control - Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and establish development standards - Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills TECHNICAL ENVIRONMENT Application Development and Integration - TypeScript, React, Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, LanceDB, lance graph, Temporal.io, Docker, Kubernetes - Integration of reasoning components, retrieval systems, databases, and AI / GenAI services Data Architecture and ETL - Vector, graph, and multi-database orchestration - Automated ETL pipeline creation, scheduling, and optimization - Attribute Based Access Control (ABAC) at the data layer - Provenance and end-to-end data lineage tracking - Schema-aligned ingestion and normalization of diverse structured and unstructured data Advanced AI, GenAI, and Multi-Model Engineering - Multi-model and multi-modality orchestration (reasoning, perception, memory, tool execution) - Temporal, spatial, geographic, quantitative, and computer vision AI - Named Entity Recognition (NER), contextual entity extraction, and entity resolution - Multi-step retrieval and structured output generation - Complex data parsing and streamlined ingestion - Deep source citation and traceable analytic outputs Enterprise Infrastructure and Cross Domain Solutions - Air-gapped, hybrid, and on-premises operational environments - Container orchestration and distributed systems (Kubernetes) - Locally hosted GPU servers and hyperconverged nodes - Multi-tenant Cross Domain Solutions (CDS)
PREFERRED SKILLS: Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field - Experience supporting federal, defense, intelligence, or secure multi-enclave environments - Cloud-native architectures, microservices, and containers - Data modeling, data warehousing, and performance tuning - Advanced visualization platforms or high-volume data processing - Cross-domain or cross-enclave interoperability experience - Zero trust architecture and secure application development - Certifications in cloud, software architecture, Agile, cybersecurity, or DevSecOps WHY JOIN US - A small, growing team where your work is visible and your input matters - A wide variety of mission problems, so you keep learning - Hands-on work with on-prem GenAI, modern data platforms, and full stack development - Room to lead, mentor, and shape where the program goes next - Remote/hybrid flexibility, with our team based in Chantilly, VA If you are a builder who enjoys variety and wants to be part of a team that values you as more than a resume, we would love to hear from you.
