Their main responsibility is to provide excellent customer service while maintaining equipment, with specific duties including: Repair Trucks and various types of equipmentPerform quality control inspections before releasing unit back to customerInstalling or upgrading customer owned equipment in various field locationsConfiguring hardware and software components after installationPerforming routine maintenance on equipmentUse diagnostic tools to test equipment to troubleshoot issuesDocumenting installation and repairsMaintaining all tools and equipment used during service callsManaging and ordering the required replacement parts necessary to complete the outlined service and repairs on customers equipmentOperate commercial vehicles and equipment to properly diagnose performance and drivability concernsMaintain possession of a commercial drivers license of a class B or higherField Service Technicians need various prerequisite skills and qualifications to fill the position, including: Strong customer service skillsDeadline and detail-orientedAbility to thrive in a fast paced environmentWritten and verbal communication skills to understand issues customers have and to explain technical information to customers in clear termsProblem-solving skills to diagnose issues with equipmentTime-management skills to handle appointments efficiently and stay on scheduleAttention to detail to spot issues before returning unit to work and complete accurate reports about the repairsOrganizational skills to keep tools and paperwork organized while in the fieldComputer and technical skills to aid in troubleshooting and understand the equipment fullyScheduling flexibility for after hours callsBe able to submit to drug screenings as required by commercial vehicle operatorsThe ideal candidate would have following experience: Previous experience working on heavy equipment, and on highway trucksProper use of PPE and shop toolsTechnical schooling relating to automotive, heavy trucks, and heavy equipment technologyFamiliar with most makes of heavy trucks and/ or equipmentExperience in troubleshooting electronic controlled diesel engines, and transmissionsExperience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanically governed diesel enginesExperience in troubleshooting transmissions and drivetrain complaints relating to noise and/ or vibrationsUnderstanding of electrical systems and familiarity with electrical componentsUnderstanding of hydraulic systems and familiarity with hydraulic components Company Description We are a mobile truck and equipment repair company based in San Diego. We are currently in the start up phase, established at the beginning of 2022. We are laying the foundation for something bigger. We support a wide range of industries and work on a wide variety of equipment from on highway trucks, off road machinery, and ocean going vessels to engine powered stationary equipment. Aside from our daily outside work we also support our trucking division. We haul material in support of the aggregate business such as dirt for large construction projects and rock for customers who manufacture concrete.
