Salary:

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager of Health Equity & Child Well-being coordinates and oversees the daily functions within the Health Equity and Child Well-being Priority Area of AzAAP. The position is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating initiatives that advance health equity and improve child well-being through access to medical services, hearing and vision health, provider and school-based education, community partnerships, and strategic initiatives. The position also supports the organization's efforts to reduce barriers to care and promote equitable access to essential health services for Arizona's children through assigned responsibilities related to the Medical Services Project and the Arizona Institute for Hearing & Vision Health. Working collaboratively with physician leaders, healthcare partners, community organizations, school nurses, participating providers, grant partners, and AzAAP members, the Manager advances evidence-based initiatives that improve the health and well-being of Arizona's children. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:*Under the direction of the Senior Leadership Team, coordinates the day-to-day activities of initiatives within the Health Equity and Child Well-being Priority Area. Maintains tracking systems and collects data to support grant reporting, organizational requirements, and program evaluation for assigned programs, projects, and initiatives. Coordinates educational projects, provider trainings, school-based initiatives, and events related to health equity, child well-being, access to medical services, and hearing and vision health. Coordinates the Medical Services Project (MSP), which connects uninsured and underinsured children with free medical services through grants, school nurse referrals, and participating providers. Supports outreach, communication, and awareness efforts to increase referrals and participation in the Medical Services Project and promote access to health services for uninsured and underinsured children. Coordinates and supports hearing and vision health initiatives under the Arizona Institute for Hearing & Vision Health, including facilitating training for Arizona's statewide school-based hearing and vision screening program. Maintains and strengthens relationships with healthcare providers, community and strategic partners, and other stakeholders within the Health Equity and Child Well-being Priority Area. Supports the development, coordination, and distribution of educational materials and resources related to hearing and vision screening, health equity, and child well-being. Works in partnership with members to implement strategies of the Health Equity and Child Well-being Priority Area and its related committees, continuing education projects, workgroups, and task forces. Attends coalition and community meetings to represent assigned initiatives within the Health Equity and Child Well-being Priority Area. Works with partner organizations to promote awareness campaigns on health equity, child well-being, access to care, medical services, hearing health, and vision health. Coordinates efforts to distribute information and resources to AzAAP members related to assigned initiatives and programs. Actively participates in and promotes the Health Equity and Child Well-being Priority Area initiatives through AzAAP continuing education, community outreach, provider education, fundraising events, committees, and projects, including but not limited to the annual CME Pediatrics in the Red Rocks Conference. Supports securing and coordinating funding through sponsorships, exhibitors, educational grants, foundation and community partnerships, and other fundraising efforts to support assigned education activities and program initiatives. Responsible for maintaining grant budgets, reporting requirements, and compliance for assigned programs and initiatives. Where applicable, supports and coordinates the activities of other managers within the team. Performs other duties as assigned. This is not an exhaustive or comprehensive listing of job functions. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:While this role supports programming related to pediatric medicine and child health, prior medical or health-related experience is not required. Our members are the medical experts; thisrole focuses on managing projects, partnerships, and communication to improve the health of Arizona children and support the pediatric professionals who care for them. Any relevant health-related experience is considered a bonus, not a requirement. Candidates with previous membership association/organization experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Demonstrated success planning and managing projects with concrete deadlines, multiple stakeholders, and complex operational and logistical needs.3+ years of experience managing programs, grants, or grant-funded projects. Bachelor’s degree in education, business, communications, child health, or other health-related field preferred.

SALARY & BENEFITS:
Salary: $60,000 annually AzAAP offers generous benefits to its team members, including 3 weeks of paid time off each year, increasing to 5 weeks as your time with AzAAP increases AzAAP observes all federal holidays and provides extended paid breaks for Thanksgiving and Winter Holidays AzAAP pays 100% of base medical insurance premiums for all full-time employees Remote Work Policy and Schedule: The Phoenix office is AzAAP’s headquarters and primary work location. At the same time, AzAAP offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement. Employees may work remotely from home or from the office, depending on their individual circumstances, job duties, and supervisor approval. There is no set number of days employees are required to be in the office. Employees are expected to attend in-person meetings whenever requested by members, partners, funders, or their supervisor. There may be certain job duties or business needs that require regular in-office work. When working remotely, all staff must work from a consistent dedicated workspace. AzAAP staff are expected to maintain high levels of professionalism and maintain standard work hours of 8:00am-5:00pm, even when working remotely. While staff may have occasional flexibility to adjust their hours for one-off personal needs, the expectation is that staff will work a consistent 8:00am-5:00pm schedule. AzAAP is a highly collaborative team, and our members expect our staff to be highly responsive. Maintaining regular business hours allows us to do this. It also allows our team to disconnect when the work day is over.
