Stinger is seeking a driven Vice President of Sales to own our growth with vehicle fleet and upfitters! The Vice President of Sales owns Stinger’s revenue strategy and results across the commercial fleet and upfitter channels. This is a vision-setting role for a leader who is equally comfortable presenting a multi-year growth plan to the executive team and walking an upfitter’s line to solve an installation problem. The Vice President of Sales leads the commercial sales team while personally carrying and growing Stinger’s most strategic Fleet and upfitter accounts. This role requires a player/coach who excels at building relationships, identifying opportunities, and delivering tailored 12-volt solutions to vehicle OEMs, body builders, upfitters, and the commercial fleet, coach, bus, RV, and agricultural markets it serves. The right person is a strategic thinker with a strong technical background, a hunter’s mentality, and the discipline to build repeatable process behind the wins.
Key Responsibilities: Own, develop, and execute the Fleet and upfitter sales strategy, including target account selection, channel design, and multi-year program pursuits. Personally carry a portfolio of Stinger’s highest-value commercial fleet and upfitter accounts, leading the relationship from first meeting through program award. Lead, coach, and hold accountable the commercial sales team; recruit and develop additional talent as the organization scales. Prospect and secure programs with vehicle OEMs, body builders, upfitters, leasing companies, and regional and national fleets to grow Stinger’s market share. Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate 12-volt solutions, demonstrating a deep technical understanding of the products. Conduct total addressable market analyses to size opportunities and identify underserved technical and geographic markets. Oversee the entire sales process from prospecting to close, making sure every stage of the pipeline is managed to maximize conversion. Manage RFQs, RFIs, program pricing, and contract negotiations for multi-year OEM and upfitter agreements. Deliver monthly and annual revenue and pipeline forecasts by product group, using Phocas and Net Suite CRM to keep opportunity data accurate and current. Partner with marketing on demand generation campaigns that build a robust pipeline of OEM, upfitter, and commercial fleet opportunities. Collaborate with engineering and product teams on new vehicle applications, product validation, and roadmap priorities driven by customer requirements. Coordinate with installation and field service teams so that upfitter and OEM programs scale cleanly from first article through full production. Provide the executive team clear visibility into specific pipeline opportunities, risks, and revenue commitments. Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and training sessions for customers and partners. Represent Stinger at industry trade shows and customer events.
Requirements: Vision-setter who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and do the work alongside the team. Player/coach mentality with clear ownership of the overall revenue target. Proven hunter with strong prospecting instincts and established industry relationships. Technical fluency in 12-volt, vehicle electronics, telematics, or vehicle safety products. Knowledge of upfitters, body builders, and fleet operators in the commercial vehicle sector. Experience negotiating and managing both short lead time and multi-year commercial fleet or upfitter programs. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Disciplined use of CRM and sales analytics tools to manage pipeline and forecast accuracy. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customers, facilities, and trade shows.
Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.10+ years of progressive sales experience, including 5+ years leading a sales team. Demonstrated success selling to automotive OEMs, upfitters or body builders, and commercial fleet, coach, bus, or RV customers. Track record of significantly increasing revenue and entering untapped markets. Installation or technical field experience in the automotive industry preferred. Supervisory Responsibility: Supervise 2+ direct reports. Environmental/
Physical Requirements: May sit for long periods of time. Extensive time spent traveling by vehicle and air. Crouching, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing, and lifting required during customer and facility visits. Operating computer, telephone, voicemail, and other office equipment regularly. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.
Position Location: St. Petersburg, Florida headquarters.
