Apply for this role →Middle School Science Teacher Frankfort Middle School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Science Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science education and a commitment to fostering an engaging, hands-on learning environment for students in grades 6. This individual will assist in designing and be responsible for implementing a curriculum that aligns with state and national standards while promoting critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, and scientific exploration.

Job Type: Full-TimeKey Responsibilities
Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans covering topics in life science, physical science, earth science, and environmental science. Utilize hands-on experiments, technology, and interactive activities to enhance student understanding. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the academic and personal growth of all students. Assess student progress through tests, projects, presentations, and class participation, providing constructive feedback and support. Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student learning and development. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior. Participate in professional development opportunities, staff meetings, and school-wide events. Ensure classroom safety and enforce school policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification/license for middle school science in Indiana or reciprocal state preferred but not required. Elementary licensure also strongly considered
- Experience teaching middle school students preferred.
- Strong classroom management skills and a passion for student-centered learning.
- Proficiency with educational technology and digital resources.
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with STEM education and inquiry-based teaching methods.
Familiarity with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).Ability to integrate real-world applications into science instruction.
