Apply for this role →Electrical CAD Technician We are seeking an Electrical CAD Technician to join our team and support the preparation and modification of electrical drawings and design documentation. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone with a background in drafting or CAD who is looking to build their technical skills and grow their career in the electrical design field.
Key Responsibilities:
Revise and update existing electrical drawings based on project requirements and engineering direction. Prepare drawings of basic electrical components and systems from verbal or written instructions, sketches, and established design standards. Create, modify, and manage vector and raster drawing files using AutoCAD and Micro Station. Apply client-specific drafting standards, procedures, and guidelines to all assigned work. Plot and prepare drawings for review and project delivery. Review drawings for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to project requirements prior to engineering review. Maintain current knowledge of drafting practices, procedures, and applicable design standards. Develop an understanding of the practices and procedures within the assigned electrical discipline. Accurately track and document time spent on project assignments. Manage multiple assignments while maintaining established deadlines and priorities. Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other project team members throughout the design process. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma with coursework in drafting technology or a specialized CAD certification. Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design is preferred.0–2 years of professional drafting or CAD experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Previous internship, consulting, or related project experience is preferred. Working knowledge of basic Autodesk AutoCAD or Bentley Micro Station commands. Familiarity with advanced commands, time-saving programs, or CAD routines is a plus. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize assignments, and meet established deadlines. Ability to take direction, learn new processes, and work collaboratively with team members at all levels. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
