Disability Claims Specialist (Part-Time)
Location: Fully Remote (Must be available during EST business hours)
Pay Rate: $50.00/hr (W2) – Weekly Pay Schedule: 20 hours/week (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, No evenings/weekends)
Duration: 12 Months (Possible extension based on performance)

ASAPJob Summary: We are seeking an experienced Disability Claims Specialist (LTD/IDI) to evaluate and manage long-term disability claims. This role requires strong analytical skills, independent decision-making, and excellent customer communication in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities: Manage a caseload of moderately complex LTD claims (pending, active, and appeals)Conduct timely, accurate claim evaluations in line with policy provisions and regulatory standards Communicate with claimants, attorneys, physicians, and other stakeholders with empathy and clarity Gather and assess medical, occupational, and financial information Document all claim activities with high attention to detail and professionalism Make fair, well-supported claim decisions using critical thinking Collaborate with internal and external partners (medical, legal, vocational experts)Identify and resolve discrepancies; escalate fraud or complex cases when needed Calculate benefits including COLA, Social Security offsets, and return-to-work benefits Handle escalations, complaints, and refer cases to appeals or legal teams when appropriate
Required Qualifications: 3+ years of LTD/IDI Insurance Claims experience Bachelor's degree Strong decision-making and analytical skills Ability to handle complex claim scenarios independently Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proven customer service experience Strong organizational and time management skills
