Harmer has been engaged by our manufacturing client to identify a Finance Director. This is a highly visible finance leadership opportunity supporting a complex, global, multi-site business with over $1B in revenues. The Finance Director will serve as a strategic finance partner to senior commercial and operational leadership, providing the financial insight, leadership, and organizational direction needed to improve business performance and support continued growth. Responsibilities Include:
  • Partner with senior business, commercial, and operational leaders to drive financial performance and support strategic decision-making
  • Lead forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning, performance analysis, and management reporting
  • Improve visibility into business performance by identifying and clearly communicating the operational and financial drivers behind results
  • Partner with operational leadership on manufacturing performance, standard cost, inventory, profitability, and other key business drivers
  • Oversee accounting and financial reporting, including close, US GAAP reporting, internal controls, cost accounting, and inventory
  • Lead and develop a geographically dispersed finance and accounting organization, including people leaders, while strengthening consistency and accountability across the team
  • Drive improvements across FP&A, accounting, reporting, controls, processes, and business intelligence
  • Support transformation, integration, and strategic growth initiatives
  • Support finance systems initiatives and the continued development of scalable, standardized processes and reporting
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required 12+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience with significant leadership responsibility
  • Demonstrated experience leading finance teams and managing other people leaders
  • Strong experience within a complex, multi-site manufacturing environment, ideally supporting a business or P&L of significant scale
  • Strong manufacturing finance background, including standard cost, inventory, plant performance, and operational finance
  • Demonstrated success serving as a strategic finance business partner to senior operational and commercial leadership
  • Strong FP&A foundation with experience improving forecasting, budgeting, management reporting, and financial analysis
  • Solid accounting foundation including US GAAP, close/reporting, and internal controls; global or statutory accounting exposure is a plus
  • Experience driving transformation, process improvement, integration, or other significant change initiatives
M&A or post-acquisition integration experience is a plus Strong executive communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial and operational information into actionable business insight
