The Division of Infectious Diseases at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking a full-time Associate Hospital Epidemiologist and Infectious Diseases Physician to support infection prevention, hospital epidemiology, and inpatient infectious diseases consult services at Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West. This faculty position offers the opportunity to contribute to patient care, education, research, and quality improvement within a collaborative academic health system. The ideal candidate will provide consultative care, teach trainees, and partner with leadership to develop and evaluate infection prevention programs. Responsibilities: Provide inpatient Infectious Diseases consultative care and teach fellows, residents, medical students, and pharmacy students Partner with the Hospital Epidemiologist and Infection Prevention leadership to develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention programs and policies Lead surveillance, outbreak investigations, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with public health agencies Advise hospital leadership on infection prevention, patient safety, quality, and emergency preparedness Support research, performance improvement initiatives, and regional/national collaborative projects Participate in Infection Prevention Committee leadership and Infection Prevention call coverage Collaborate across departments including Employee Health, Clinical Laboratory, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, and health system epidemiology teams to strengthen infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship efforts Contribute to infection prevention education and emergency response planning Compensation Compensation range from $250,000 to $350,000 Shift & Schedule Full-time employment
Requirements: MD or equivalent from an accredited institution Board Certified in Infectious Diseases Eligible for or licensed to practice medicine in New York Experience in adult Infectious Diseases Expertise in infection prevention and/or antimicrobial stewardship preferred Minimum of 3 years of academic teaching experience at the residency/fellowship level Strong leadership, communication, and collaborative skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Epic experience preferred
